The Bank Card

We wish to inform you of important changes to our range of services.

With effect from 31 October 2009, Western Union Bank GmbH will discontinue the distribution of the BankCard that was issued in cooperation with the PayLife Bank. As from this date it will no longer be possible to acquire or recharge cards.

In order to avoid inconveniences that may arise from this change, we would like to draw your attention to the alternative service provided by our longstanding partner PayLife Bank, which is free of charge. The MasterCard Red is a rechargeable credit card similar to your BankCard. As with the BankCard you will be able to withdraw money from a cash dispenser and make payments in shops that provide debit card readers. An additional feature of the MasterCard Red is that it is possible to effect payments on the internet.

Should you wish to take advantage of the free services provided by the MasterCard Red, simply fill in the attached card application form and send it to the address given on the form or hand in the completed form at one of our branches.   

However, if you are not interested in these services, you are requested to use up the remaining balance on your card by the end of October or to withdraw it at a cash dispenser. Alternatively, you can send us the cancellation form that you will find overleaf or hand it in at one of our branches so that we can refund the balance to your account.

As a token of our appreciation for your loyalty, we wish to present you with a voucher for your next Western Union® money transfer. If you do not receive a voucher for 2 euros by mail, please call 00800 33 44 33 55 and we will send a voucher to you. The voucher can be redeemed in all branches of the Western Union Bank by 1 February 2010.
