1. Is the Western Union® Gold Card free?

Yes, applying for the Western Union® Gold Card is totally free of charge.

2. Why do I have to give you all this information to get the Western Union® Gold Card?

It is required to register your profile because this way it will allow us to improve our offerings and better reward your loyalty.

3. Where can I use my Western Union® Gold Card?

You can use your Western Union® Gold Card in any participating Western Union location in Germany and in any other participating country. To obtain the list of all the Western Union locations, simply call 00800 3940 3940*.

4. What should I do if I already have a loyalty card from my Western Union agent?

The new Western Union® Gold Card will replace your old card and can be used right away. Be sure to ask for advice from the staff at the Agent location to enjoy the remaining benefits of your old card.

5. Can I share my Western Union® Gold Card with my family?

No, your Western Union® Gold Card is personal. This card can only be used by you.

6. How do I get my rewards?

7. Can I use my discount on several transactions?

Unfortunately, no. The discount is only available for one transaction. However, you still have the opportunity to keep the discount and use it for a future transaction.

8. Can I still earn points if I forget my Western Union® Gold Card when sending money?

Yes. Points will be added to your Gold Card by either:

  • Providing the Gold Card number to the clerk at the time of your transaction.
  • Calling the Customer Service Center at 00800 3940 3940* and providing the MTCN and the fee paid.

9. If I lose or have my Western Union® Gold Card stolen, should I reapply for a new card?

No, just call 00800 3940 3940*

A replacement Gold Card that holds the same Gold Card number will be sent to you in approximately 4 weeks time.

10. What should I do if my address changes?

11. Do I still need to show my ID when I send money with my Western Union® Gold Card?

Yes, for all Western Union® Money Transfer transactions at Agent locations.  Your Western Union® Gold Card does not replace your ID.
